On Saturday, December 12th, 2015, Mikhail Morgulis of Florida, was presented with official documents appointing him Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in the USA from the US Department of State and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The official ceremony was held that morning in the reputable Sarasota Hyatt Hotel, and a celebration took place the same evening at the Cultural-Spiritual Center of the Spiritual Diplomacy Foundation in North Port.
The letter of appointment was presented by the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Belarus in the US, Pavel Shidlovsky. He pronounced the order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the US Department of State naming the President of the Spiritual Diplomacy Foundation, Dr. Mikhail Morgulis to the honorary diplomatic position. Congratulations from the Chairman of the National Assembly of Belarus (Parliament), Mikhail Myasnikovich, and from the United States Senator from Florida, Mark Rubio, were also conveyed. Pavel Shidlovsky highlighted the special role that Mikhail Morgulis has had in establishing positive relations between the United States and Belarus. He recounted the many exceptional social charitable projects undertaken within Belarus by the Spiritual Diplomacy Foundation and headed by Mikhail Morgulis.
Well-known attorney Boris Parad, who had flown in from Chicago for the events, recalled how during the USSR era, Mikhail Morgulis met with President Mikhail Gorbachev in the Kremlin and prayed with him there, after which, he visited Russian orphanages where he provided significance assistance.
Max Mirnyi, an Olympic and World Tennis Champion also spoke. Others in attendance and offering congratulations included Ita Neymotin, Regional Counsel for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit, David Fernandez, Esq., the Rev Mark Bazalev – Vice President of the Spiritual Diplomacy Foundation, Inna Ryzhkov, and Dr. Juliette Jones. The violinist, Pavel Leonov, from the Sarasota Symphony Orchestra also performed at the event.
In response, Dr. Mikhail Morgulis spoke of the importance of establishing mutually beneficial relations between the United States and Belarus, noting Belarus’s geopolitical role as a gateway between the West and the East. He commemorated the tragic fate of the Belarusian people, as every third citizen was lost during World War II, and spoke of the intelligence, good will and humility of this remarkable nation.
He also thanked his team members, who helped him to lead difficult spiritual-political talks, including Rev. Mark Bazalev, Paul Petrovets L.H.D, Frank Abernathy Esq, Bill Alexson, and Veronica Grigaltchik.
The Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in the USA, Mikhail Morgulis, ended his remarks by reminding the audience of the American saying “Those who pray together – stay together!” And concluding, he added: “For me, this honorary title provides a further opportunity to greater serve God and many more people!”
МИХАИЛ МОРГУЛИС – КОНСУЛ БЕЛАРУСИ В США
12 декабря в субботу состоялось вручение документов Госдепартамента США и МИДа Беларуси назначенному Почётным консулом в США – Михаилу Моргулису, живущему в штате Флорида. Праздничная церемония проходила в двух местах, утром в зале респектабельного отеля «Хаят» в городе Сарасота, вечером в Культурно-Духовном Центре фонда «Духовная Дипломатия» в Норд Порте.
Документы вручал Временный поверенный Беларуси в США, Посол Павел Шидловский. В своей верительной речи он зачитал приказы Министра иностранных дел Беларуси и Госдепартамента о назначении на эту почётную дипломатическую должность президента фонда «Духовная Дипломатия» доктора Михаила Моргулиса.
